I think the Berkshires have a growing arts culture. There are several well known museums in the area as well as many arts organizations. MCLA works actively to encourage its students and members of the community to participate in arts events. I feel that there is still work to be done. There are few places in town where art supplies to create art can be purchased. This area also seems to stick mostly to music, theater, or painting. I would love to see more three dimensional art. I was shocked to find that there is no pottery class here at MCLA, nor is there a pottery studio in town. The activies and shows that various organizations present are interesting and unique. I just wish this was an area that had more support for people creating art.
