My teaching assistant position was for the skills math class for students that do not test in to college level math. My duties were much more administrative then I had expected going in, however I was able to learn what it takes to be a teacher outside of the classroom. In this setting I was required to grade all tests, maintain a grade book, keep track of attendance, and work with students to make up their absences. Seeing the other side of teaching really added to my interest in education and has fueled my desire to teach English abroad next year.
