The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)
Starting my Sophomore year, I have been an active member of MCLA's chapter of NRHH. This organization is an honors society dedicated to the work that resident students do in the residence area community on campuses across the country. We represent the top 1% of resident students (MCLA has around 2,000 students so our organziation has about 20 people total), and we are all extremely proud of that. Large campus wide programming efforts have been made by this group over the past few year. I have had the opportunity to chair programs and committee's such as the Student vs. Faculty/Staff Volley Ball Game and the Abby's (Advisory Board Awards Night).
During the my senior year at MCLA I had the pleasure of serving as my NRHH chapters Vice President of Recognition. This is a position that I had been interested in dating back to my first year with NRHH. As the Vice President of Recognition, I have had the responsibility of overseeing MCLA's/NRHH's Recognition efforts along with being the campus coordinator of the "Of the Month" or "OTM" system. This is a program where any student can write a 600 word maximum article recognizing an event or person that really stands out. I have made it my personal mission to double the amount of "OTM's" that MCLA writes during my term as Vice President of Recognition. I also made it my mission to increase the number of regional and national "OTM" winners that MCLA produces.
Below you will find various things that I used/created for NRHH as Vice President of Recognition.
You will find,
1. Recognition awards used within our chapter.
2. "Gotta' Write 'Em All!" Bookmarks that I created to increase "OTM" awareness.
3. "OTM" Monthly Theme Ideas.
4. The "OTM" Guide Book that I created to increase "OTM" awareness.
