Hello and welcome to my ePortfolio!

My name is Michael Smith, and throughout my life I have always had a passion for teaching and helping others reach their full potential. This passion has expressed itself through a variety of different activities, ranging from coaching my local high school Nordic ski team to tutoring elementary students in reading to participating and supervising within the Teach to Learn Science Fellowship through Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, as well as the various classroom experiences that I have participated in throughout the course of my licensure at MCLA.

I constantly strive to become the best educator and person that I can be, and it is through this pursuit that my pedagogical and educational goals and strategies have constantly shifted and evolved, incorporating new information and strategies as I see fit in order to create a cumulative and effective teaching approach that will allow me to integrate differentiation and inclusion into my future classroom, allowing students to develop self-efficacy and achieve all that they want to achieve.

I have always been able to develop healthy and beneficial relationships with children, my peers, and my professors, and these connections allow me to reach them on levels that would otherwise not be possible. I am able to maintain a professional atmosphere within a classroom while at the same time fostering the safety and comfort necessary for students to be able to take risks and follow their educational curiosities. I am looking forward to having my own classroom in which I can develop an effective classroom community and continue to positively impact students throughout the course of my career.

I invite you to take a look at my achievements and experience as evidenced within my portfolio.
