The highlight of my sophomore year was definitely the travel course to Barcelona.

The class spent the first half of the spring semester learning all we could about Barcelona and its surrounding area, Cataluña, which is an autonomous community in the northeastern portion of Spain which used to be its own country. The area has been home to many famous artists, including Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and Antoni Gaudí, who designed La Sagrada Familia (pictured). It has been under construction since 1882 and is currently projected to be finished in 2026, the 100-year anniversary of Gaudí's death. La Sagrada Familia was my favorite attraction in Barcelona, and I made sure to visit it again when I returned to Spain in 2010.
