In the fall of 2009, I enrolled in the following courses:
BIOL-105 Human Biology
EDUC-338 Reading and Language Arts
EDUC-390 Teaching Children with Special Needs
IDST-320 Interpretation
MATH-286 Math for Elementary Educators
SPAN-301 Advanced Spanish Grammar and Composition
At this point in my college career, I was interested in elementary education, so I took some education classes. I ultimately decided against persuing an education degree, but I do not regret these classes as they helped to further my liberal arts education. My family also got a puppy (pictured to the right)! The course Advanced Spanish Grammar and Composition helped prepare me for my eventual study abroad, which I began planning during this semester. The most interesting class I took in the fall of 2009 was Interpretation, which was a requirement for my Interdisciplinary Studies major. In that class, we watched intricate films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, read works by Plato and Nietzche, and interpretted their meanings. This class was very entriguing and inspired me to look more deeply into everything I read and see.
