Freshman Year

"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face."
                   Eleanor Roosevelt

(Yes, I must admit: I went through a dreadlock phase. Don't judge.)

Leaving home and coming to college was a time when I definitely had to face my fears. I'm naturally quite shy and was afraid about being on my own, making friends, and, of course, doing well in college-level classes. The challenges that I faced during my freshman year and beyond most definitely helped me to gain strength, courage, and confidence.
