I design my landing pages to be interesting, and not overwhelming.  When a student starts, all they see is the first module.  After they complete each module a new one is released.

Homosexuality in America

Introduces structural ways of understanding homosexuality in American culture since the 1950s. Topics covered include life in the closet, coming out stories, queer theory, as well as cultural and legal issues.

Students will demonstrate that they are familiar with the topic in general as well as concentrate their own interests and build upon those.  Upon successful completion of this course, a student should be able to demonstrate a broad familiarity with the readings in the field, demonstrate concentrated knowledge in an area that is most interesting to them and reflect upon their own learning experience in the process.
